March 7 at 19:30 - 22:00£12
First performed in Dublin in 1742, join us for this performance of Handel’s most popular oratorio, including the famous Hallelujah Chorus.
It is said that Handel’s patron George II was so moved that he stood up during the performance, forcing the rest of the audience to stand as no one could remain sitting if the King was standing. To this day the audience usually stands for the chorus.
The choir will be conducted by Ben Lathbury and accompanied by Mark Dancer. The soloists Jon Grave, Keira Smitheram, Hannah Fisher and Lars Thorkildsen are all lecturers or students at the University of Chichester Conservatoire.
Tickets are available at Ticket Source for £12 for adults, £10 for students. Children under 18 go free. Any remaining tickets will be available on the door the night of the performance.
